Defesa Pessoal e Karate

[1] I was pleased to have received the following report which I found of interest, from our BRAZILIAN “BUDO KARATE-DO” PARTNERS headed by SHIHAN ARTHUR XAVIER OLIVEIRA FIOHO , 6TH DAN TANI-HA GOJU-RYU on the their Technical Training “Gashku” which was held at the YMCA DOJO in PORTO ALEGRE, RIO GRANDE do SUL, SOUTHERN BRAZIL last week.
ResponderExcluirThe Gashku brought together 30 Karate-ka, of mainly “senior rank” led by SHIHAN ARTHUR, SENSEI PADILLA, 5TH DAN [A BUDO KARATE-DO MEMBER] AND SENSEI HELIUM, 5TH DAN, with the training concentrating on the techniques of GOSHIN-JITSU AND KARATE SELD DEFENSE, with a final session in JKF GOJU KATA “LINE-KAI”.
SHIHAN ARTHUR expressed how pleased he was with the training, and how he found this sort of gathering between Karate-ka from different Dojos builds great enthusiasm and a valued friendship between those participating, a comment with which I concur, and is one of the reasons we are trying so hard to bring in Karate-ka from our other Dojos to our OCTOBER GASHKU.
Thank you Shihan for your report. I found it of interest mainly because it was a “Gashku with a difference”, concentrating on planned “limited and pre-selected” techniques, and we look forward to more information on your activities from Brazil in the future.
